Evening opening with guided tour

The Edith-Russ-Haus opens the interactive installation “Soma Mapping 2” by Jia-Hua Zhan from Taiwan at 6 pm.

Experience your media double in a futuristic sketch!

Visitors can actively control their silhouettes of dots and lines with their movements. The result is a dynamic, digital drawing accompanied by sounds that react to the presence of the participants in the space. After numerous international performance arts festivals, Soma Mapping can now be experienced in Germany for the first time. After the Long Night of Museums, the installation can be seen at the Edith-Russ-Haus until September 27, 2012.

During the Long Night of Museums, dialogical guided tours through the exhibition “Discrete Farms – Somewhere the meat has to come from” by Ute Hörner / Mathias Antlfinger will be offered every hour from 7 to 10 pm.

The artist duo have taken a closer look at the large fattening farms in the Oldenburg region and have artistically presented this politically controversial topic, which is currently the subject of much debate due to Werder and Wiesenhof, in a large multimedia installation. There are no shocking images and no raised index finger, but a clear positioning and very sustainable awareness of our relationship to animals.
