In her video works, artist Karolina Breguła focuses on people who are directly affected by change – be it through the climate or gentrification. Our city centers are also changing. In Oldenburg, the C&A building has been empty for over two years and the next vacancy is already on the horizon: What will happen to Galeria Kaufhof?
At the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art, we look together at the art of Karolina Breguła. How is our city changing and what does this do to people? Together we will create short video clips from so-called field recordings on the subject of vacancies in Oldenburg’s city center. We will try out how we can shape the collected sounds into a soundtrack. How does the sound influence the mood of the film?
